Entrevista a Rossana Vazquez

Interview with Rossana Vazquez

“I discovered my passion for art by traveling to different countries, where I visited fascinating galleries and museums. There an admiration for established artists such as J. Pollock and S. Dalí grew in me. I began my first self-taught abstract strokes in 2018 and later participated in workshops.”

“My emotions, moods and consciousness inspire me to create and manifest them on a canvas. I don't have specific references of a specific artist today, only teachers who inspired me at the time. Although now my greatest inspiration is my life.”

“I start a work with an idea, often my own and sometimes someone else's, that catches my attention and can be crystallized into an image. “I don’t have a preferred technique, as I experiment with several in the process.”

“My artistic style is varied and versatile. I like to go through several stages and I am not pigeonholed exclusively into one. I like to know and experience.
Art is subjective, and I consider that as an artist I do not have defined conceptual parameters within a certain format or style. In this sense, my objective is to transmit the emotions and sensations that arise from the heart of each observer when contemplating my work. The important thing for me is to evoke an emotional response that resonates with whoever experiences it.”

“The biggest challenge: Myself! Improving myself every day as an artist is a challenge that constantly drives me in the face of vicissitudes and circumstances. They are springboards towards both artistic and personal growth, both go hand in hand.”

“I have a work of a very cute elephant that I managed to make in a workshop with my art teacher at that time. It's called "To my mother." It reflects what that being represented for me in her role as a mother. I wanted to capture in that image of empowerment her authenticity, her great strength, her big heart, her protective and warrior nature, like she, my mother, was.”

“Both facets are harmoniously intertwined, finding a balance between my personal commitments and my passion for art. “Each one has its own rhythm and time.”

“Art is a heritage shared by diverse cultures, with numerous and varied artists around the world. It is a reflection of humanity, transmitting emotions and experiences throughout history. It offers a unique and universal language that resonates with every human being, reaching the depths of our emotions, senses and faculties, both consciously and unconsciously. It works as a tool to build, create, console and inspire from within, manifesting love, beauty, admiration and inspiration, as well as acceptance towards the various forms of artistic expression in society. In the future, let us hope that art will continue to be that special link between the divine and the human, serving as a means for reflection and contemplation, leaving a deep mark on consciences that understand its meaning and value its importance in the world. Let us hope to leave a legacy as significant as that left by the great masters of the past.”

“Continue advancing and growing on this artistic path that in this period of time has given me a lot of satisfaction and has comforted my soul. In it, I capture my love and my burning passion in every stroke, shape and color. I hope that wherever my works reach, there is always something of me, with love and dedication, that can be felt.”

“Thank you dear for your interview.

Enjoy doing it
